Silent Knight 2730 Operating Instructions


ARMING SYSTEM

Enter access code. If green light is on, all zones will be protected. If green light is off and one or more of the zone lights are one, the zones in violation will not be protected.

ZONE STATUS LIGHTS
1 THROUGH 8
A) When a zone light is on, something on that
zone is open.
B) When a zone light is slowly flashing, that
zone is shunted out of circuit (not protected).
C) When a zone light is rapidly flashing, that
zone was or is in alarm.
READY LIGHT
A) When the green light is off, one or more of
the zone status lights are on.
B) When the green light is on, system is ready
to be armed.
C) When green light is flashing, system is
sending a signal.
ARMED LIGHT
A) When red “armed” light is on, system is armed.
B) When red “armed” light is flashing, system
is in alarm.
RE-SET VIOLATED ZONE

When system has an alarm, disarm, check flashing light for zone that caused alarm. To re-set the violated zone, press the “shunt” key, then the “test” key.

SHUNT A ZONE

To shunt one or more zones, press the “shunt” key and the number of the zone to be shunted. If more than one zone is to be shunted, repeat the above for each zone. This may be used when arming the system or using door chime.

UNSHUNT A ZONE

After using door chime with shunted zones, it is necessary to unshunt each zone by pressing the “shunt” key and the zone number.  System automatically unshunts zones when disarming system.

TROUBLE/SILENCED LIGHT

A) When trouble light is on, the audible trouble tone has been silenced, and the wire has been cut.

SILENCE TROUBLE TONE

Press the “shunt” key then the “0” code. Sound will stop, but light will stay on until trouble is repaired.

EMERGENCY ALARM

To summon the police and sound the sirens, press the “emergency” key.

EMERGENCY LIGHT

A) When emergency light is on, there is trouble on the loop.

B) When emergency light is flashing, a panic
button has been depressed.
FIRE ALARM
To summon the Fire Department, press the “fire” key.
FIRE LIGHT

A) When fire light is on steady, there is trouble on the loop.

B) When fire light is flashing, the fire circuit is in alarm.

INSTANT/DELAY

To change the delay door to instant, press the “instant” key before arming the system. Delay automatically returns upon disarming.

INSTANT LIGHT

A) When yellow instant light is off, entry/exit is in effect on delay zone.

B) When yellow instant light is on, the entry/exit zone is now instant.

DOOR CHIME/INTERIOR

To activate the door chime, press the “door chime” key. To deactivate, press the “door chime” key again. To bypass any zone from chiming, see “Shunt a Zone” instructions. This key also activates any zone designated as interior. This zone will only be in operation when interior light is on.

DOOR CHIME/INTERIOR LIGHT

A) When system is armed and the door chime light is on, it indicates the interior zones are on.

B) When system is disarmed and the door chime light is on, all zones other an interior zones will sound when violated and re-set.

SILENT DURESS

Press the “9” key before entering access code to summon help without sounding sirens.

CODE CHANGE

To change any or all access codes, press the “shunt” key, then the “test” key, then enter the “0” access code. The trouble light will flash. Enter each new code, pressing the “test” button after each one. If deleting one or more codes, enter the first number of the code then the “test” button. When completed, press the “test” key 3 times to exit program mode.

WRONG CODE

If wrong code is entered, stop, wait 5 seconds, then enter the correct code – or press the “test” key and enter the correct code.

ZERO CODE

The code beginning with 0 is the master code. This code will let you enter  programming to change operating codes and will let you use the test function.

TESTING SYSTEM

Press the “test” key followed by your “0” code. All lights on keypad should light up, and sirens should sound briefly. System will send a test signal to central station.
